The historic city of York is only 30 minutes away. At the confluence of the River Ouse and Foss, York is the traditional county town of the historic county of Yorkshire. York Minster and a variety of cultural and sporting activities make it a popular tourist destination.
North York Moors
The North York Moors is a national park in North Yorkshire, containing one of the largest expanses of heather moorland in the United Kingdom, it's a great location for outdoor activities such as walking and cycling.
Whitby is a seaside town on the North Yorkshire coast, once a fishing port, now a popular tourist destination, with it's picturesque ruins of Whitby Abbey one of it's main atttactions.
Close to the lodges is the famous Flamingoland with the theme park and zoo with dozens of rides and attractions for young and old.
Castle Howard is a stately home in only a short drive from our lodges, made famous by ITVs Brideshead Revisited. It has stunning gardens, parkland and lakes to walk around.
Dalby Forest is a forest located in the North York Moors National Park, it's very popular with cyclists and walkers.
There are several car parks, hiking trails and mountain bike trails, a 'forest drive' throughout the forest and a Go Ape centre.
Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum is a large Second World War-related museum near Malton near our lodges.
It occupies a former Second World War prisoner-of-war camp of 33 hut, it's a great day out for young and old.
The pretty market town of Malton is 3 miles away. The town has become know as food destination, with it's food festival, monthly food market, plenty of independent food shops, the town has been called "Yorkshire's Food Capital'
